Column and splat case with 30-hour wood movement. You can probably identify the maker by the movement for there is no label. The movement has no verge but is operational as far as having complete wheels with no chipped teeth. The gong or bell is missing, there are pendulum and weights, has an excellent wood dial and period hands, but the hands are for another clock. The splat is partially stenciled and painted at the upper area where it appears to have been repaired or reglued and both glasses are replaced. The columns and case appear to have been varnished. $75-$150.

Seth Thomas 30-hour column and splat mantel clock. It has a partial label in the center and complete in the weight chutes. Usually it is just the opposite. The legible part of the name on the label is, (omas), Seth Th is missing. The refinished case has the original half columns with a light colored original finish. The splat is a darker finish and there is no evidence of stenciling. A piece of veneer is missing on the lower right side of the base. The returns are absent. The top glass and putty are original, the lower glass is replaced. The 30-hour long drop movement has 32 teeth with typical Seth Thomas verge support, verge, pendulum, and weights. It has the original dial with Arabic numerals sometimes seen on Ohio clocks. The dial holes match. $125-$250.

“Eli Terry, Jr., Terryville, Connecticut”, quarter column, carved splat, wood movement shelf clock, ca 1831-1835. The case has reeded quarter columns, carved eagle splat, returns are absent, and may have had feet originally. They made holes at the case factory and later inserted feet or left them off. That made them a few pennies cheaper. The short drop wood movement has 42 teeth, cords, pendulum and rod. There are no weights. The movement ticks with finger pressure. The front plate has an added square access hole?? The dial has some paint crazing, top glass is original, the bottom painted glass could be but has been rebacked sloppily with black paint. $150-$300.
