another super rosewood veneered clock, standing 13 ½ inches tall, has original glasses, door latch, old pendulum bob, original paper
dial, good label and two movements. The top movement runs 30-hours and strikes a coil gong. The alarm movement in the bottom rings

“E. N. Welch Mfg. Co. Forestville, Conn.”, mantel clock, “Tural”, ca 1872. The rosewood
veneer case is 15 ½ inches high, has original glasses, door knob, label, painted dial, coil gong, and pendulum. The veneer is excellent
but there are chips on the base, back corners on each side. You must look hard to find them. The 8-day movement is running and striking
hours on the coil gong. Ly-Welch #1516. $150-$250.

“Gilbert Clock Co. Winsted, Conn.”, wood mantel clock, “Coupon Extra”, ca 1885. The rosewood
veneered case is very nice, just a tad dark but the great rosewood graining shows well. It has an original glass, like this model
shows in the books, door latch, and beveled door frame. The case is 15 ½ inches high, has a repainted dial, old pendulum, coil gong,
brass bell, and part of the label on the back. The 8-day time and strike movement is running and the alarm movement is ringing the
brass bell. Ly-Gilbert #1066. $100-$200.
91. $100
“Atkins Clock Company, Bristol, Conn.”, peak top mantel clock, ca 1880. This clock
was marketed by “The Barnes Brothers Clock Co.” who bought out the defunct Atkins Clock Co. We have no evidence that Atkins ever marketed
this model clock, “Diamond”, even though it has their label in it. Barnes continued to sell the inventory of Atkins clocks with the
Atkins labels or movements. Some of these models “Diamond” have had this exact movement but signed by Barnes. This is considered to
be a very rare clock because Atkins never sold them. The nice rosewood veneered case is 14 ½ inches high, has original glasses, replaced
dial and pendulum, excellent label, coil gong and iron bell. The 8-day movement is running and striking the coil gong, the alarm
rings the bell. Reference: “The Clocks of Irenus Atkins”, page 97. $150-$300.
