387.     $150

Seth Thomas Clock Co. hanging clock, “Office No.6”, ca 1913. The case is oak and stands 36” high. It has darkened slightly over time, but looks nice. That did not hurt the case at all, so expect it to have an oak color. It was made so you could remove the top if you want a plainer case. It looks nice and clean, even rubbed out. The upper glass and   old lower glass with advertising look to be original. Good signed Seth Thomas dial with but is probably the second dial on that pan. The dial board is missing but I would not have noticed if not called to my attention by the consignor. The hands, pendulum bob, wood stick, and beat scale are correct. The 8-day time only movement is signed and the Geneva locks are still intact. This model must have been popular for advertising; I notice I have sold other Office No.6’s with advertising on the glass. Ly-Seth Thomas #1075. $200-$300.

388.     $100

Electric advertising clock for, “Pepsi Cola / The light refreshment”. There is a hanger on the top like a clock if you want to hang it. The clock is running and there are two light bulbs behind the glass to illuminate it. The clock is 116 1/2” wide. The front lifts up to access the bulbs and wires. It is signed, “Duralite Displays / Cincinnati, Ohio”. It is in near perfect condition. $100-$200.

The case is very nice and there is a glass back door, and hinged bezel in front. The two-piece porcelain dial is also nice, has original hands, a Brocot escapement and the typical French pendulum. The movement is in running condition and it strikes a nickel bell attached to the movement. $150-$250.

390.     $275

Chelsea Clock Company, Boston, Mass. “U.S. Army Message Center”, ca 1943, issued originally in a phenolic case, but was subsequently transferred to a more useful heavy wood desk stand. It is a strikingly attractive piece, brass on black, with a black dial. This was Chelsea’s second version with a 12-jeweled movement, model 12E, with the addition of a GMT hour hand. The dial is signed by Chelsea and, “U.S. Army Clock Message Center, MI”. The 8-day movement is running and in overall excellent condition. It came to us from an attorney who displayed it on his desk for many years. It is pictured and described in the book, “Chelsea Clock Company / The First Hundred Years”, page 216.  $350-$450.

391.      $100

Ansonia Clock Co. enameled iron clock, “Boston”, ca 1904. The base is 15 inches wide, has two columns on each side of the dial and a correct metal back cover. Other than the columns with ornate capitals and bases this is a rather plain case. There is one tiny chip in the beveled glass, the porcelain dial is excellent and the hands are correct. The 8-day time and striking movement is signed, running, and striking properly. It strikes half hours and hours on a gong. It has the correct style pendulum and key. Ly-Ansonia #1271.  $100-$200.

392.     $100

French white marble cased clock with a “Japy Freres” round 8-day movement. It has a beveled glass in the brass sash, two toned marble dial, incised numerals that are gold filled, and correct original hands. On the back is a hinged brass cover over the movement opening. The pendulum is signed, “THFBLE”, or something close to that. Very unusual to see a signed pendulum. I added a picture of the movement to show you what I believe is something very unusual, and something I have never seen on another movement. Probably something very simple. It is the long metal piece that is attached at the bottom of the movement and extends upwards. It is signed, “Flourdelet.B? SG?”, or something close to that. It is running and striking properly.  $200-$350.

393.     $50

French clock and statue resting on a homemade marble base. For what it is, it looks good, clean, and probably repainted. It is 16 inches tall and 15 inches wide. There is no glass over the dial and appears that it never had a bezel and glass. The painted dial is very nice. The statue is signed, “Moisson”. The movement is signed, “Japy Freres” in their normal place, and “Dumoulinnelf / aH. Molle / Paris”, in another place. The 8-day movement is running and striking a bell attached to the movement. There is no back cover over the movement. $75-$150.
