Two (2) miniature Seth Thomas Clock Co. mantel clocks, ca 1855 and 1886. One is their “Cottage O”
model, the other is “Cottage C”. Both have Plymouth Hollow labels. Both have 30-hour movements, one time only the other time and alarm.
The cases are both rosewood veneered with some usual age-related wear. We used to sell these miniatures for $300-$500 depending on
which models we had. Excellent bedroom clocks, for looks, not for running necessarily unless you want to wind them every day. $100-$200.
734. $150
Austrian 2 weight Vienna Regulator, ca 1920. This is a very nice case/clock. The mahogany case is
33 inches tall, very plain by Vienna standards but like the later day Vienna’s, made more like a box. The full front door has a working
key lock, multiple pieces of beveled glass, and a plain flat glass over the dial. The dial is a silver shade and has original hands.
The movement is signed, “MORA”, and a beat scale in the bottom of the case says, “MORA A.D. Wien”. The weights, beat scale, pendulum,
dial ring, and hands are all brass. The 8-day two weight movement is running and striking on one long rod. As I said in the beginning,
this is a very nice clock, just plain looking. $200-$350.
737. $25
Two old clock shelves. One is oak, 19 inches wide, looks like it was carved, probably done with
a router. Second one is oak 16 ½ inches wide, old but nice. $25-$50.
736. $50
2 clocks, Ansonia shelf clock and a rare paper mache clock. “Ansonia Brass & Copper Co.
Ansonia, Conn.” mantel clock, ca 1869, named, “Gothic Gem-Large”. The mahogany veneered case is 18 ½ inches tall, full front latching
door with two glasses, bottom could be a replacement. Old painted metal dial is soiled by has no paint loss, hands could be original.
Complete paper label inside, 8-day movement runs and strikes hours on a coil gong. It has an alarm movement and it rings on an iron
bell. It has a replaced pendulum bob. “Wm. S. Johnson / 3 Cortlandt St. / New York”, copied from the complete paper label inside
this rare ca 1840’s paper mache or wood cased clock. The collector who consigned this clock listed it as an iron front. It looks like
an iron front but I have to call it either a paper mache or wood case, with substantial mother-of-pearl decorations. There is one
large piece of MOP missing on the bottom. I have a lot of the old MOP pieces so if you are able to design it to fit the opening, remind
me and I will include the MOP with the clock when it is shipped. The case is 16 inches tall, bezels missing their latches, dial may
be a repaint, and there is a good label inside. The movement is 8-day and it strikes on a coil gong. $50-$100.
