Forestville Manufacturing Co. “ripple-front steeple”, 1842-1849.  A 20-inch steeple in walnut veneer with a ripple front, two old glasses, and old unsigned metal dial and two replacement hands.  A good label inside with some water-staining, listing J.C. Brown (as proprietor).  The 8-day brass movement is signed “Forestville M. F. G. Co, Bristol CT U.S.A.” and is running and striking.  There is a cracked ivory knob on the door and two replacement finials.  $500-$800.
